The RestorixSM Regenerative Right-of-Way Management System helps utilities and applicators reduce vegetation management expenses and affirm their commitment to stewardship.

Corteva Agriscience introduces the RestorixSM Regenerative Right-of-Way Management System, a comprehensive program designed to help vegetation managers, operations managers, applicators and the utilities they serve reduce long-term Vegetation Management expenses, achieve their vegetation- and land-management goals and affirm their commitment to environmental stewardship.

The Restorix SM system works by combining the proven performance of Corteva products with prescriptive consultation, selective application methods, applicator certification, and back-end verification.

“The Restorix SM system is more than just an IVM program,” says John Kalthoff, Vegetation Management Portfolio Marketing Lead, Corteva Agriscience. “ Restorix  is for those utilities and applicators who are working to reduce operational expenses, and who are deliberately moving toward specific environmental goals such as habitat restoration or creation.”

Putting the Restorix System Into Practice

Utilities and applicators can enroll in the Restorix SM Regenerative Right-of-Way Management System through their Corteva vegetation management specialist. Enrollment requires the following:

  • A consultation and prescription from a Corteva Vegetation Management specialist
  • Use of at least two Corteva selective herbicides
  • Along with selective application methods when possible
  • Use of a certified  applicator
  • Adherence to prescribed application rates and timing.

“Use of the Restorix system can help utilities and applicators reduce overall vegetation management expenses through lower stem counts of incompatible plants requiring decreased fuel consumption, and reduced equipment and labor requirements,” Kalthoff says. “Plus, the Restorix system can help re-establish the low-growing forbs and herbaceous plants that create natural barriers to woody plant development, further reducing long-term vegetation management demands.”

Along with the proven benefits of Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) and integrated habitat management, participating utilities and applicators can point to their use of the Restorix system as proof of their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable operations.

“With  Restorix system, we can offer participating utilities the opportunity to cut carbon emissions; increase biodiversity; improve pollinator, wildlife and soil life habitat; improve erosion control; and beautify the landscape,” says Kalthoff. “And that’s all in addition to the operational, fiscal and reputational benefits a well-executed IVM strategy can provide.”
